The Hotel
Villa Ostinato feels more like a private residence than a traditional hotel.
Set within a stately townhouse dating from 1891 in the heart of Ostend, the hotel is deliberately intimate in scale. With just six suites, much of its character comes from the sense that you are staying in a house rather than simply passing through
a hotel.
Inside, each space has its own identity.
Rich colours, carefully selected objects, art and unexpected details appear throughout the villa. Rooms flow naturally into one another, creating an interior that feels collected over time rather than designed around a single formula.
There is a certain theatricality to the interiors, but never at the expense of warmth. Layers of texture and decorative details give the house personality, while its small scale keeps the experience personal.
That intimacy extends beyond the suites. The restaurant, salons and secluded courtyard garden all feel connected to the house, allowing the experience to unfold naturally from one space to the next.
Villa Ostinato does not try to create grandeur through scale.
Its character lies in something more personal: the feeling of being welcomed into
a remarkable house and, for a little while, being allowed to make it your own.
Villa Ostinato’s story is also expanding beyond the townhouse,
with the neighbouring Hotel Du Louvre currently being brought back to life.
The Rooms
Villa Ostinato has just six suites, divided across three distinct categories.
Spread across the different floors of the historic villa, the suites vary in scale, layout and atmosphere. High ceilings, original architectural details and generous proportions preserve the character of the house, while contemporary comforts have been integrated naturally throughout.
Some suites open onto a private terrace overlooking the garden, extending the sense of space beyond the interiors.
Despite their differences, there is a clear sense of continuity between them. Each feels considered, comfortable and distinctly connected to the villa it belongs to.
With only six suites in total, the experience remains intimate and personal.
Dining
Dining is an essential part of Villa Ostinato, with the restaurant giving as much attention to the experience at the table as the hotel does to the stay itself.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served within the hotel, in a setting that shares the same intimate character as the rest of the house. With only a small number of tables, the atmosphere remains personal throughout the day.
In summer, the secluded courtyard garden becomes one of the most inviting places in the villa. Sheltered behind the historic townhouse, it offers an intimate setting for lunch or dinner away from the streets of Ostend.
Inside, rich colours, art and carefully chosen details continue the character found throughout the hotel.
For those who come as much for the food as for the stay, the restaurant is
an important part of what makes Villa Ostinato worth travelling for.
The Garden
Hidden behind the townhouse is Villa Ostinato’s secluded courtyard garden.
Enclosed by the surrounding architecture, the garden feels remarkably private for a hotel in the centre of Ostend.
Lush greenery and the intimate setting give it an almost Mediterranean feel, unexpectedly far removed from
the Belgian coast.
During the warmer months, breakfast, lunch and dinner can be enjoyed outside, making the garden an important part of
the experience.
From the street, you would never know it was there.
Location
Villa Ostinato is set in the centre of Ostend, within easy walking distance of
the beach, the seafront and the heart of the city.
Its location makes it easy to experience Ostend on foot, whether heading towards the sea or exploring the streets around the city centre.
Back at the hotel, the historic townhouse and its enclosed garden offer a more private setting, despite being right in the city.
Why we selected it
We selected Villa Ostinato because it feels personal from the moment you arrive.
With only six suites, you quickly get to know the house. The rooms, the restaurant, the garden and the people all feel connected, and nothing about the experience feels anonymous.
The fact that Villa Ostinato was once a private townhouse is still very much present. It has the elegance you expect from a boutique hotel, but it has never lost the warmth of a home.
The restaurant is another reason we would return. You can start the day here with breakfast, stay for lunch and come back for dinner. In summer, the secluded courtyard garden might be the best place in the house.
What we remember most is how easy it was to feel at home here.
There are only six suites, but that is exactly the point. Villa Ostinato does not need the scale or facilities of a large hotel to make an impression. A beautiful house, good food and genuine hospitality are enough.
That is why Villa Ostinato earned its place on The Concierge List.
