Hotel De L’Europe
Amsterdam · The Netherlands
A five-star address on the Amstel, where the city meets the water
and the view is always in motion.
111 rooms & suites · Multiple dining venues · Amstel riverfront
De L’Europe is positioned directly on the Amstel, with open water in front and the historic centre of Amsterdam at its back.
From the outside, the building sits comfortably within its surroundings. Inside, the scale becomes more apparent. High ceilings, generous proportions and
a layout that reflects the structure of
a traditional grand hotel.
The building carries its history without emphasising it. Not a recent reinvention, and not preserved as
a statement. The approach remains measured, with a clear sense of continuity throughout.
The Hotel
Many rooms face the Amstel directly, where light reflects off the water and shifts throughout the day.
Movement on the river becomes part of the interior. Boats pass at eye level, reflections move across surfaces, and the view remains in constant change.
Rooms with balconies extend that connection further, while others sit more inward within
the building.
The finish remains consistent. Traditional detailing, balanced proportions and a controlled use
of material define the spaces.
The Rooms
Dining is spread across several spaces within the hotel, each following the same overall structure.
Restaurant Flore forms the centre of the culinary offering, with a focused, ingredient-led approach. Elsewhere, Freddy’s Bar provides a more informal setting, defined by atmosphere rather than concept.
The variation between spaces remains subtle. Each setting reflects the building
it sits within, rather than standing apart from it.
Dining
A wellness and fitness area is located within
the hotel.
The approach remains understated, offering
a quieter space within a building that is otherwise defined by its scale and location.
Wellness
Set along the Amstel, the hotel occupies one of
the few positions in Amsterdam where
the city opens up.
The surrounding streets connect directly to
the canal belt, museums and
central districts.
Yet the presence of the river creates a sense of distance, allowing the building
to sit slightly apart from the density of the city.
The view defines the location as much as
the address itself.
