Hotel De Blanke Top

Cadzand · The Netherlands

A hotel set along the coast, where light, horizon and openness define the experience.

93 rooms & suites · Seafront hotel · Cadzand · Open year-round

The entrance does not give much away.
A door, a corridor, and then the monastery opens up.

Cloisters connect to inner courtyards, corridors lead into adjacent wings, and spaces reveal themselves gradually rather than all at once.
Movement through the building follows its structure, not a predefined route.

The city remains present beyond the walls, but within the complex the pace shifts. Architecture defines the experience. Proportion, light and the sequence of spaces set the tone.

Nothing is overstated.
The atmosphere builds through restraint.

The Hotel

Rooms face the sea or the surrounding landscape, with large windows that bring in constant light.

Materials remain light and neutral. Soft tones and clean lines allow the view to take precedence, without competing with it.
Layouts are straightforward, defined more by orientation
than variation.

Balconies extend the interior outward, creating a direct connection to the coastline.
Even from within, the horizon defines the space.

There is not much more needed.

The Rooms

Dining takes place across several spaces within the hotel, all positioned to engage with the surroundings.

Views towards the sea remain present, whether seated inside or closer to the terrace.

The layout is open, with enough distance between tables to maintain a sense of calm.

Light shifts throughout the day, and the atmosphere shifts with it. The setting does most of the work.

Dining

A wellness area is integrated within the hotel, positioned towards the dunes and sea.

An indoor pool, saunas and treatment spaces form the core of the offering. Large windows maintain a direct connection to the landscape, allowing light and horizon to remain present throughout.

The setting remains open and calm, consistent with the rest of the building. A space defined more by its surroundings than by its facilities.

Wellness

Hotel de Blanke Top sits between dunes and sea, with sand, water and sky defining the immediate environment.

The surrounding landscape is open and unobstructed, with very little to interrupt the view in any direction. Despite its size, the building does not dominate.
It remains aligned with the landscape, both in scale and in atmosphere.

That balance is not accidental.

Some places are defined by structure,
This one is defined by its horizon.
