Hotel Amigo

Brussels · Belgium

A city hotel in the heart of Brussels, steps from the Grand Place and entirely at ease with where it stands.

154 rooms · City hotel · Brussels · Open year-round

Hotel Amigo sits just off the Grand Place in the centre of Brussels, positioned within the dense structure of the historic city.

From the street, it follows the rhythm of the surrounding facades without drawing attention to itself. The building blends into its context, part of a continuous sequence rather than a standalone presence. Inside, the atmosphere shifts. Materials become richer, spaces more defined, and the layout follows the existing structure rather than a reworked plan.

Movement through the hotel is structured and deliberate. Corridors and shared spaces are arranged with a clear sense of order, guiding you through the building without emphasis. Transitions between spaces are subtle, but consistent.

Nothing is exaggerated.
The building remains present throughout.

The Hotel

Rooms are distributed across the building, each shaped by their position within the structure.

Softer tones and more defined elements sit alongside each other without competing. Materials are consistent, and the use of colour remains controlled, allowing the spaces to feel composed rather than designed.

Light enters evenly, without strong contrast, creating a balanced atmosphere throughout the day. Some rooms face towards the surrounding streets, others are set further within the building, but the overall approach remains unchanged.

The focus stays on comfort and proportion. Spaces are neither minimal nor expressive, but positioned somewhere in between.

The Rooms

The restaurant and bar sit within the same architectural framework as the rest of the hotel, continuing the material language found throughout the building.

The layout is slightly more open than the surrounding corridors, offering a subtle shift in atmosphere without breaking from it. Tables are placed with enough distance to maintain a sense of structure, rather than creating a busy or crowded setting.

Light plays a quieter role here, supporting the space rather than defining it. The experience remains tied to the building itself, rather than standing apart from it.

Dining

There is no wellness or spa facility at Hotel Amigo.

Within this context, that absence feels consistent with the rest of the building, where the focus remains on structure, interior and location rather than additional amenities.

Location

Directly adjacent to the Grand Place, one of the most recognisable squares in Europe,
the hotel sits at the centre of Brussels’ historic layout.

The surrounding streets are defined by stone facades, narrower passages and a constant flow of movement. The city is always present, not as a backdrop but as an active environment that continues right up to the entrance.

From within the hotel, that connection remains visible. The building does not create distance from its surroundings, but stays fully integrated within them.
